Racing will now commence at Prestige Pools Waikaraka Family Speedway with Opening Night of the ASSCC Season on November 29th due to minor delays in the upgrade of our facilities.

A number of key elements within the Critical Works Scope have now been completed including

·       Installation of new floodlighting (Completed ahead of Schedule)

·       Installation of the new transformer – The site is now under high voltage power

·       Town Bend Retaining wall

·       Cutting of the new track profile

·       Construction of the new slipform track wall is well underway with contractors working under lights to complete this element. The wall is 1.2m high with a deflection foot on the bottom and the top edge is rounded

·       Commencement of the toilet block upgrade

A site inspection by Speedway NZ is due to take place in early November, to certify the safety and readiness of the track for racing

An updated race calendar has been agreed between ASSCC and PNSL, confirming racing will start on 29 November for stock and saloon cars, and in December for open wheel class racing. While slightly late than originally anticipated, 24 race nights will still be scheduled for the upcoming season, including a minimum of 10 dedicated race nights for open wheel classes this season and a commitment for 10-12 race meetings in subsequent seasons. Start date is conditional on completion of contract and could be a week earlier.
